My New Friend Simon

One day into my clinic came a little boy and his mother who was so sick. I was trying to treat her and Simon decided he was not getting enough attention and to change this situation he thought he would ignore every request that his mother made.
He pulled books off shelves and decided to yell when she spoke to him. I realised that I would have no hope of helping his mother if this behaviour continued, so in a very low voice I said “Simon stop that you will do as you are told “. He stopped and stared at me and ran from the room Simon at that time was 2 years old. Every visit his family made he would glare at me and keep his distance. This continued for 4 years.
Yesterday was for me a day of triumph. Simon came into the treatment room and pulled up a chair beside me and talked about his IPOD.
